Good morning church family!
Yesterday was a day that impacted me personally in many positive ways. Baptizing Cohen, and seeing his faith displayed in real time was inspiring. Dedicating precious Ivy and being able to share the testimony of Kenslea as she committed herself to training up her daughter in the Lord was unforgettable. It was a reminder that ministry matters.
Let that sink in... ministry matters.
All the toil, the trouble and the tension that ministering to people causes matters. Serving the Lord is not a walk in the park, it is a fight on a battleground. We are defying the flesh that says don't be concerned about others. Don't be concerned about showing up. Don't be concerned about their hurt or their needs. All too often we allow these temptations to turn our paths away from ministry. Let it not be so. Yesterday we were able to witness a 7 year old young man publicly declare his faith in Jesus as Lord, and a mother of a two year old declare her pursuit of godly parenting. This happens because of ministry. God works through us!

I announced our big change in schedule and programs yesterday. We are moving lifegroups to Sunday morning at 9:15 starting February 1st. This is not a light decision nor is it going to be an easy transition. It will open up our Sunday nights to be able to focus on semester based men and women's discipleship. That being said, we will need all hands on deck! We are in urgent need of members to volunteer in both the nursery and children church. Both of these ministries struggle greatly with keeping a full schedule of volunteers. We are going to need two teams for a Sunday starting February 1st. If you are already a volunteer, please commit to not letting anything short of a serious emergency keep you from showing up. If you do not already volunteer, please do so. We need you. The ministry needs you.
In all of this change and transition, let us not forget the goal and purpose of Cedar Grove: We are to LOVE others unconditionally, LEARN about God increasingly, LIVE to share Jesus intentionally, and LEAD others to Christ continually in Lebanon, TN and throughout the world. So, we need you to buy in. Be committed. Be in the vision. Be vigilant. Be focused. Be together.
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, awhile we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Oh, and men, register for REAL MOMENTUM Weekend.

I love you Cedar Grove. I understand the pressures of life. I believe God has us on this hill for a reason. May be honor and glorify Him with all that we say and do. Happy in the Lord, amen. Buh-bye.
